Shoji is a workspace presented by Uniqlo. The space is divided into two zones which are "Feel the Zen" and "Feel the Charge." Shoji believes in accessing balance. Work and life are two halves of a whole, and everyone should have a place for both. Shoji’s workspaces are designed minimally to be functional and inclusive. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, so long as you want somewhere quiet to get it done. Most importantly, Shoji believes in a reverence for work. Finding a place that respects the act of working should be easy and convenient.
Uniqlo is a Japanese clothing retailer with 1,920 stores worldwide. The clothes they produce are affordable, durable, and exceedingly well-designed. In this way, Uniqlo embodies the principles of simplicity and accessibility in the minds of our target. Simple made better.
LOGO
Our logo’s split-pattern design is a visual representation of Shoji’s layout. Shoji will be separated to create two different work environments. One half of the space is “plugged in” with full Wi-fi and cell data. The other half is “zoned out” with no access to either. Therefore, the left pattern alludes to technology and feeling charged, while the right represents a focused zen.

THE SPACE
WAYFINDING
The interior signage will feature the same square, backlit white box, and black bars as the exterior signage. The signs will be placed throughout the space to identify Shoji’s different areas and their respective purposes. A stand-alone sign with arrows will be placed next to the help desk to show entering customers where everything can be found.

STATIONERY PACKAGING
We know sometimes you forget to bring supplies to get your work done. Shoji will have pens and notebooks available for customers to purchase while in the space.
WEBSITE
The Shoji website has a continuous scroll layout, with content about the space, menu, contact information, and location details with a map. Additionally, the website will have a “who’s there” page, allowing visitors to see how busy the different Shoji locations are before arriving to do work.
